The 55W SOX Lamp Kit includes everything needed to build a complete low-pressure sodium (SOX) lighting system in one convenient package. Each kit contains a matched 55W SOX lamp, electronic ballast, and BY22d lamp socket, ensuring compatibility while simplifying installation compared to sourcing components individually.

At the heart of the system is the 55W SOX lamp, which produces a pure 589nm monochromatic yellow light. Unlike conventional light sources, this narrow-spectrum output removes nearly all color information from a scene, creating the distinctive visual effect that has made SOX lighting valuable for scientific research, optical testing, color perception studies, and immersive creative environments.

The included electronic ballast provides reliable ignition and stable operation without requiring an external ignitor, while the BY22d lamp socket ensures a secure mechanical fit and dependable electrical connection.
